Frequently asked
Honest answers, gently given.
Does the AI pretend to be the person?
+
No. Every video, voice clip, and chat response is labeled as a preserved digital likeness. The AI never claims to be alive, conscious, or the actual person.
What if the person has already passed?
+
We support a posthumous authorization workflow that requires verifiable estate or family administrator consent. Without it, no voice cloning or avatar generation can occur.
How is the avatar video created?
+
We integrate with HeyGen for avatar video generation. Depending on your plan and HeyGen account, you may upload a custom avatar source video, enroll directly in HeyGen, or paste an existing HeyGen avatar ID.
Whose voice is used?
+
You can choose between a HeyGen voice, an ElevenLabs voice clone created from authorized recordings, or a neutral memorial narration voice.
What happens if the AI doesn't know something?
+
It says so, gently. The AI is grounded only in approved memories and interview answers. It will not invent stories, advice, or beliefs.
Who can see and interact with a profile?
+
Only people granted access by the family administrator. Permissions are granular per family member, and every interaction is logged in an audit trail.
Can I delete everything?
+
Yes. You can export your full vault and delete every profile, memory, voice, and avatar at any time. We do not retain anything after deletion.
Is the data encrypted?
+
All media is stored encrypted at rest with signed URLs for access. Voice and avatar IDs are stored server-side only and are never exposed to the browser.
What will the AI refuse to do?
+
It will not give medical, legal, financial, or spiritual certainty. It will not speak on topics the family has marked as restricted, and it honors private family matters you choose to seal.
